Irati

Irati

In the 8th century, the noble leader of a Christian community makes a blood pact with an ancestral god in order to save his community from an invading army. Years later, his son, now the next in line to rule, must find the corpse of his father in order to prove his commitment to his Christian faith. He insists on the help of a young pagan woman as a guide and together they venture deep into a strange and inhospitable forest.

A grand epic featuring gods and monsters, swords and blood, and faith and honour, Irati draws on stories of Basque mythology to create an adventure unlike any other put to screen.

Screens with short film Zoon.
